It Sounds Obvious, But There is Real Knack To Buying a Vehicle

January 26th, 2015 by

Purchasing a new or used vehicle seems like a pretty straight-forward thing to do. You walk into a dealership, point at something you like, haggle for an hour or so over the price, secure the necessary financing and drive away.

However, to get the vehicle you want at the price you want to pay can take a lot more effort than just buying a new pair of jeans. There is a knack to buying the vehicle you want and more than anything else, buying the vehicle you want while enjoying the experience.

Brent Sayles, the general manager at Crown Nissan, has been in the automotive industry since 2005. He knows better than anyone that there is more to buying a car than just picking out a nice colour.

We asked Brent for a few tips.

“These tips will help with the purchase or lease of your next car,” Sayles explained. “No 1, go into the dealings with your Sales Advisor knowing that the advisor is there to help you through the process. The advisor doesn’t get paid unless you are happy with the vehicle, the dealership, and the terms and conditions. The advisor is not working against you, he or she is working FOR you.

“No. 2, do all the research you need to do. The professional sales advisor is not afraid of an educated customer. In fact, our people welcome it.

“No. 3, be open minded. A lot of the time the advisor will have ways and options to not only save you money, but also to get you the a vehicle that better suits your wants and needs than you might have originally thought.

“And No. 4, be prepared to say yes to the right deal. If you like the vehicle, you like the dealership and you agree to the terms and conditions, just say, ‘Yes!’”

So come on down to Crown Nissan at 700-1717 Waverley Street with all of your pre-buying information, your research and your car-buying needs. Our sales advisors are trained to get into the car you need at the price you want. And just ask GM Brent Sayles, “Our sales advisors want you to be informed as possible when you walk through our door. Remember, our sales advisors aren’t afraid of an educated customer. They look forward to working with you.”
