2014 Canada Day Festivities

Have you decided how you are going to celebrate Canada’s 147th birthday? If not, maybe this list of the various Canada Day celebrations around Winnipeg may help.

Canada Day at The Forks
Canada Day at The Forks has family friendly activities all day long plus musicians, shopping, crafts and a free photo booth. Local talent fills The Forks three stages and a spectacular fireworks display closes off the day.


Living Flag
Join thousands of Winnipeggers at The Forks to form Canada’s largest living flag! This year’s flag will be using the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights as its backdrop. Event starts at 9 am and 2,000 specially designed shirts will be given away. Photo is scheduled to be taken at 11 am.


Osborne Village Canada Day Street Festival
The entire block of Osborne Village will once again be closed down for a huge street party. This year, the street festival will take place on both Monday, June 30th from 6:00-11:00 pm and July 1st from 11:00 am-11:00 pm. Look forward to extended patios, music stages, shopping and great food. Osborne will also be featuring both the Energy Zone and Family Zone this year.

Canada Day Picnic in the Park
The annual Canada Day Picnic in the Park at Assiniboine Park is a great all-day event for all ages. Enjoy live entertainment at the Lyric, fun with the kids in the afternoon and fireworks to end the day. Plus, enhance your fireworks experience by listening to 99.1 Fresh FM at 10:40 pm.

Canada Day at Lower Fort Garry
Enjoy free admission to Lower Fort Garry this Canada Day plus enjoy crafts, entertainment, face painting, and cake!


Oak Hammock Marsh
Bring the family for an exciting day of outdoor fun, face painting, and crafts. Enjoy Horse-drawn wagon rides from 12:30 to 3:30 pm and cupcakes at 2 pm.
